Wonder where all the Dues money and Fundraiser money goes?

Here are a few ways the PTA provides for our students.

Battle of the Books:

Every year, kids in grades 3, 4, and 5 participate in the Battle of the Books. They read terrific books from that year's list, either independently, with friends, or in class. Then, at the end of the school year, they enter a contest to answer trivia questions about the books. Get smart! Have fun! Win prizes! Prepare for Battle!  http://glenrich.pbworks.com/w/page/30419118/Battle-of-the-Books-2011

Birthday Books:

Glendale PTA provides Level appropriate books for each and every students Birthday at Glendale.  Glendale LOVES to read!

Bluman News Daily Award:

Mrs. Kelly Bluman was a teacher at Glendale who died of Breast Cancer.  In her honor each year, one 5th Grade Student, showing outstanding all around character, is given the Bluman News Daily Award.

Fundraising:

Enjoy The City Books - Sold each year.  One book per family is given out at Open House in October.  If you cannot sell the book given to you, just return to your childs teacher.  If you can sell more than one, we encourage that as well!

Script - Gift Card Fundraiser - Families can order selected gift cards from mid November until December 3rd.  Gift cards will be delivered for pick up around December13th.  Certain

percentage of each gift card goes back to Glendale school.

Niagara Chocolate Fundraiser - Sale starts February 4th and ends February 25th.  Chocolate will be delivered March 30th

Glendale School Store will be open Thursday mornings before school in the front foyer, beginning September 22nd.  Items available: pens, pencils, bookmarks, folders, and pencil pouches.  Proceeds from the store will benefit Sweet Home Share & Care and the Boys' & Girls' Club of the Tonawandas.  Is there another item you'd like to see at the Store? Contact Amy Reinhart at acr0223marketing@gmail.com

School Supplies by Staples:

In May, parents can order your childs school supplies for the following year and never think about back to school shopping again.  Supplies will be delivered directly to Glendale with your childs name on them.  Interested?  Look for more information and order forms coming in May.

Special Persons Luncheon:

Contact Jennifer Russell at 693-1988 or allyray@aol.com if you are interested in volunteering.  This luncheon takes place in June.  Each student invites a family member, friend or neighbor for lunch.  Pre-registration is a must.  Details will follow closer to the event.  Dont forget - the Scholastic Bookfair will be going on during this luncheon as well.

Yearbooks:

Glendale PTA provides yearbooks for each and every student FREE of charge.  More information to follow in January.  Contact Nadine Ocasio nmp@roadrunner.com
